Jonathan Sellem is Franco-American, splitting his life between France and New York. After a first chapter in renewable energy, he committed fully to what had always run through him: music. Out of that shift, Child of Ayin was born, a project that owns its mystical side without losing its grip on rock.
Jonathan Sellem est franco-américain, partageant sa vie entre la France et New York. Après un premier chapitre dans les énergies renouvelables, il s'est engagé pleinement dans ce qui le traversait depuis toujours : la musique. De ce virage est né Child of Ayin, un projet qui assume sa part mystique sans rien lâcher du rock.
Top of the Sinaï, his debut album, is a concept album of twelve songs numbered I to XII. Two archetypes answer each other across the record: the cowboy, conquering the outer world, and the shaman, reclaiming the inner one. At the summit stands the Sinaï, where the two finally meet.
Top of the Sinaï, son premier album, est un disque concept de douze chansons numérotées de I à XII. Deux archétypes se répondent tout au long du disque : le cowboy, qui conquiert le monde extérieur, et le shaman, qui reconquiert le monde intérieur. Au sommet se dresse le Sinaï, là où les deux finissent par se rencontrer.
Recorded between Blackbird Studio (Nashville), Kerwax (Brittany) and Transversal Studio. Most often compared to Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, Neil Young and the seventies California sound.
